Sanitation Supervisor

The Sanitation Supervisor provides leadership and training by working alongside sanitation workers.  He/she ensures that our facility and grounds are always maintained in audit-readiness state.  The Sanitation Supervisor follows cGMP, establishes and maintains the Master Sanitation Schedule and ensures Good Sanitation Practices throughout the facility as well as provides support to manage crises as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Master Sanitation Schedule and help draft and revise SOPs as needed
  • Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of buildings/facilities
  • Monitor, supervise and train staff to maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient cleaning operation
  • Order, stock and replenish supplies, including cleaning agents, supplies, smocks, hairnets, etc.
  • Work with 3rd party to manage smock laundering, storage and use
  • Order tools and equipment required to perform required cleaning and sanitation
  • Provide support to staff for time clock punches, PTO and work with staffing agencies to fill positions as needed
  • Work with Quality management to ensure audit readiness of facility and grounds at all times
  • Manages pest control
  • May be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays
  • Perform other duties as assigned


 Minimum Requirements:

  • Sanitation or food safety/quality control in food environment experience or 2 to 3 years’ experience required
  • Must have or achieve certification for Sanitation Supervisor within one year
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and coach direct reports
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills


Physical Requirements:

  • Constant work near moving mechanical parts or powered industrial trucks
  • Constant exposure to fumes, dust or other airborne particles
  • Constant exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, wheat and soybeans
  • Will lift 20-30 lbs frequently
