IT Systems Admin

The IT Systems Administrator’s role is to assist in the maintenance of servers, storage and network infrastructure and to help ensure maximum performance and availability of all systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely support and serve as the primary contact for critical and high application/network-based outages
  • Provide support to users and troubleshoots/resolves problem
  • Maintain computers, networks, printers, WIFI access point, servers, security cameras etc.
  • Create/administer/troubleshoot active directory group policies
  • Plan, coordinate and implement server installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance
  • Prioritize and respond to issues as needed
  • Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels; provide performance statistics and reports
  • Define and perform server backups and recovery procedures
  • Participate in development, testing, and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other functional areas within IT to ensure reliability of IT infrastructure
  • Participate in new installations, testing and special projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Manager network security and performance


 Minimum Requirements:

  • 4+ years’ experience required in similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/MacOS desktop and Microsoft servers
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot the following: Active Directory, DSN, DHCP, NAT, VPN, firewalls, access points, mobile devices, desktop and server operating systems, MS Office applications and backup software
  • Knowledge of monitoring software – Sage500, SQL and MySQL servers
  • Experience with IIS, Apache
  • HTML and PHP programming a plus
  • Strong experience in Linux server
  • ERP and Warehouse Management software
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Information Systems or related degree required
